What is our best starting XI if all fit?

We signed 14 new players in the Summer and added 6 more in January and February. If it wasn’t for our wretched luck with injuries, it got me thinking. What would be our best starting XI be if all our players were fit? My preference from what I have seen is as follows; Norris Rafferty Poole Shaugness...

That’s your lot, no more arrivals today

Neil Allen has confirmed that there will be no more new arrivals after Owen Moxon signed earlier today. An excellent transfer window on paper. We filled the gaps we needed to i.e. an attacking midfielder / no. 10 in MPH, a box to box midfielder in Moxon, a central defender in Macintyre to replace th...

Now confirmed on OS. Tom McIntyre signs from Reading for 2.5years.

Another excellent signing and a true bargain at £75k.

Re: Owen Moxon - Pompey transfer target

The News seen to suggest this might be less lightly now. May not be a bad thing. This was posted by a Carlilse fan on another Pompey forum: "Carlisle fan here. Looks very likely that he’s going to be joining you lot. As good as he was last season, he has really struggled this season. Not putti...

Scully to Mansfield

Is the latest rumour. More likely a loan rather than permanent move.

Pack not playing is going to be a big loss. Not just his leadership, but he is one of a handful of players that have been playing really well recently.

Callum Lang & Tom Mcintyre

Pompey are apparently close to signing Readings Tom Mcintyre (defender) on a free transfer and Callum Lang (attacker). The latter is being held up due to agreeing transfer fee.

Mcintrye is 25 and left footed. He is a useful utility player as he can play LB or DM.

Re: Myles Pert-Harris

Good bit of business. Now need a CB and CF to round out the most urgent positions that need filling. If we do bring in a CB, I think he should be someone who can play at RB as well. Especially now Rafferty is carrying a knock and Swanson is out for another 6-8 weeks. Don’t really know much about MP...

Re: Mentality - The Biggest Contributory Factor?

Mentality is not the biggest contributory factor in how badly we are playing. We are out of all the cup competitions, so all the players have to focus on is just the league. There are far more significant resaons for our current downfall, namely: 1.) Injuries Our best defender (Poole) and best midfi...

Re: Robertson - Torn Hamstring.

Rumour has it the scan results have cone back and Robertson is now ruled out for 10-12 weeks!

Not good news at all if true. Time for Richard Hughes to source a replacement. If he can find someone who is equally as good then he would have pulled off a master stroke.

Perhaps the first signing this window will be a new goalkeeper? Schofield does not fill me with any confidence if Norris were to pick up an injury or suspension.
