Re: Pre season friendlies
On the topic of Away games, I was hoping that as we will be visiting much bigger grounds it may be easier to get to more away match’s (for mere mortals like me without 50+ points).

Re: Rafferty
Totally right on the sentiment point….football is relentless and waits for no one. That said, I fully valued Raff’s contribution to our promotion where the Oxford game stood out for me as his best in a Pompey shirt.

Re: D-Day Celebrations
Great info from you BlueWalter, like you I’m utterly fascinated by DDay - all the planning that went into making it a success. Not forgetting of course the courage & bravery of all those soldiers (including your father) - it was a staggering achievement. The Battle of Britain is another amazing ...

Re: Rafferty
I was surprised that Raff’s has been released, I recall one of his first games for us (pre season vs Coventry) where his positional awareness was superb, a real step up in quality. It may be a perception that he lacked the raw pace to counter the wingers he is going to face in the Championship, not ...

Re: Bolton v Oxford
Congrats to Oxford United - by far the best team on the day! It’s odd isn’t it how the best team in the division doesn’t get promoted, couldn’t even beat 6th place side. I guess the Bolton promotion party is now scheduled in for Spring 2025 not that I care as I’ll be too busy enjoying football back ...

Re: Sean Raggett
IMHO he is still a decent CB at L1 level and I’d be surprised to see him drop down to L2, maybe he would given his history and relationship with the Cowleys.

Re: Transfer Rumours Championship Season
The ex Chelsea & West Spam youth player [Kemp] that scored a lot of goals/assists for Swindon & MK Dons last year maybe worth a closer look (poss to fill in).

Re: Sean Raggett
Apparently there are several teams in the Championship facing financial challenges (including Soton) so even with the parachute payments it can be a tough div to operate. I agree that Swanson and Morrell situation is contract driven rather than ability as both care capable of playing in the Champion...

Re: The Boss
We went to see Mr Springsteen and The E Street Band in Cardiff last night . Brilliant as Ever IMHO 8) That’s one artist I’ve always liked but for some reason haven’t ever seen live, I’d better get a move on and sort that out before he gets too old to tour. I also went to a gig last night - Kula Sha...

Congratulations to Ipswich Town, thoroughly deserved double promotion, McKenna has done a sterling job and looks to be destined to bigger things (no disrespect to Ipswich).

Re: Party on the common
We are all going to this rain or shine !
The players, JM, the coaching staff, Andrew Cullen and of course Michael and Eric Eisner all deserve the adulation of the city.
Let’s not forget Pompey Ladies too, magnificent achievement to go unbeaten and become champions.

Re: Will We Get The Job Done?
I knew we would do it. I had never been more confident about Pompey than at any other time. Further good news is that I have passed my audition to become a model advertising a well known brand of incontinence underwear. Ha that made me laugh out loud 🤣 Like you I was confident we’d get the job done...
