Re: Meanwhile, Parisians are getting a bit hot under the col

Seems that the locals have destroyed it. Place Vendome is beautiful and not the place for this sort of 'art'. Well i hope the Gendarmes find them and prosecute them otherwise it will just make a complete ass of the law, with it gone there must be a big hole left at the Place Vendome. No hole - it w...

Re: English votes for English MPs

For many years, I have felt that there is something wrong with the current voting system. Devolution means the Scottish Assembly has control over many subjects - health, education - so, for me, Scottish MPS should not have votes at Westminster on subjects where thieir votes affect English only subje...

Re: Everybody needs them

Can't answer questions on a 'show' that I have never watched. On the other hand I can say that I know a lot about, at least, 8 of my neighbours - speak to them on a regular basis and know them well - it is nice here.

I have a good idea but need to do some researcth. The Gosport CEO got a rise to £90 something - still the 2nd lowest paid in the County - way above an MP.

How many people in Brittany would rather be part of the UK than France?

Re: MPs to get 10 per cent pay rise

A fair point. Walk round the city and a very high percentage of people working here earn a lot more than an MP. How often do they work in London? I'd get double what they're on if I went to work in London. Tube drivers aren't on far off. I'd be interested to know how many others get £140k in expens...

Surely it is Local Government 'officers' who are vastly overpaid?

Re: MPs to get 10 per cent pay rise

I'm not saying I support it - it was decided by an independent organisation and Cameron opposes it.

Red diesel was only 79p/litre on the Cowes fuel berth today. Probably tastes as good and the ferry is cheaper too.
Don't think you know much about wine.

Re: Wine

For regular use I stick to Cotes du Rhone. Favorites are Bourgogne - Fleurie, Reuilly, Mogon, Moulin a Vent.

Never had a Bordeaux that I rated.
