Pompey v Charlton
We got what we deserved. Charlton successfully ruined the second half with their antics but during what little decent football was played they edged it. Perhaps I’m to blame. I took two old friends who are Charlton supporters. They enjoyed the result but were embarrassed by the second half performan...

Re: Thompson's behavior today?
Sorry, from my point if view that is unacceptable. You don't run 15 yards and taunt someone like that. Imho it's a cheap shot and totally unsportsmanlike behaviour and I wouldn't have been surprised to see him booked and sent off for it. As a qualified ref (Well was anyway) I would have had no qual...

Re: Oxford
Oxford played most of the football. Pompey scored goals. Funny old game.

Re: Whats your claim to fame or little known fact about you.
When happily married with three kids being asked at a party what was the happiest moment of my life. No hesitation. “Being behind the goal at Wembley in 1966 when we won the World Cup.” Still happily married after 52 years.

Local Authority Chief Executive (Retired 1995)
Now (still) sports fanatic. But not now playing. Retired from League table tennis last year. But since a colleague is still playing in Bournemouth Premier league in his early 80s might make a comeback yet.

Re: Standing
Not that I mind rain, but just how far back do you have to get to keep reasonably dry in the North Stand in the half way line area? Rain was driving in there on Saturday.

Standing
I finally got fed up with my cramped seat and a pillar blocking my view in the South Stand. So I switched my season ticket to a seat quite high up behind the goal in the Fratton End. What a pleasure it is there. A clear unrestricted view, lively fun fans and how good to be able to stand. So much mor...
