Re: Sobering reading
A sobering article for sure, and exactly why I support the strategy that the Eisner's have, ie steady sustained growth. If/when we have the basis of a team that can play in the Championship, then promotion will be fine. Actually I think the current overall squad is quite close, but absolutely defin...

Re: 'Arrogate v Pompey
I assumed it s sold out to ST holders. So didn't check the ticket situation which is a shame as I could have gone Some lovely places to go in and around Harrogate. I don't think that demand was that high. According to the Harrogate website we could have had an additional 250 tickets if we'd wanted ...

Re: Jackett is here for the duration
In my experience of American sports team owners that are not quick on the trigger and tend to stick with the head coach (Bungles being a prime example) Its the season ticket sales of the upcoming season that get the coach hung if sales drop. So, hes here for the remainder of this season.....is he c...

Re: Jackett is here for the duration
Anyone else listened to Michael Eisner's message to the PST? Well, from that it is evident that Jackett is going nowhere sometime soon. On that basis, we might as well get behind the team and try our best to enjoy the ride. It would be fine if we weren't going backwards . I've bought tickets for Ox...

Re: FA Cup First Round
616 tickets for Pompey. I see sales are to ST holders, but also split into points collected within the ST holders group (12,8 and 4 points). How are points allocated? Is it other away games this season? I can't find this on the website. Thanks for any info. https://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/2019/...

Re: So What Now Mr Jacket?
Up until now I have not really been a Jacket out person, I am honestly still on the fence but there is something seriously wrong at the club at the moment. Whether that is him having lost the dressing room or something else I don’t know, but something is not right at all. If the owners are even con...

Re: How blue are you?
My original post about "hardcore" was in agent provacatuer mode but a Pompey Match in Feb 1985 remains as a major life event in my mind. At the time I lived in Arundel, West Sussex but we considered ourselves to be a Pompey supporting town with Brighton being the largest competing team at ...

Re: Jackett and Wolves...Deja Vu?!
There are mentions of 'hoofball' in this discussion but strangely enough last Saturday I sensed that our defence in particular -Burgess especially- were looking to pass and build from the back. In addition McGillivray was playing the ball to his defenders rather than kicking out of his hands into t...

Re: Jackett and Wolves...Deja Vu?!
Catlin who lets face it is the Eisners main advisor knows this. He also knows that a club thats in this position will struggle to find a better manager in those circumstances. The issue wasn't even mentioned in his latest update, I wonder why? We spent the most in the TW just gone. That in itself b...

Re: Jackett and Wolves...Deja Vu?!
I think you're right the information on the salaries will only become available 18 months in arrears when the clubs accounts are published. However the effect of parachute and solidarity payments from the Premier and Championships means that I reckon if you had a League 1 Table of Players wages it w...

Re: Jackett and Wolves...Deja Vu?!
I think it's a mistake to think that Pompey have a huge financial advantage over the rest of the teams in the division. Last reported turnover was £8 million, Wolves with who you compare had a turnover of £24 million but lost £23million in their last declared accounts that philosophy if copied at po...
