Re: crowds come out to honour champions

I went with two of my sons and some old school mates. Had a couple of drinks in The Apsley (first time since 1976!) before wandering over to the common and then went back to a friend's for a few more drinks and some food. I enjoyed the before and after far more than the actual event. As most of you...

Re: Who stays and who goes?

Intrigued by what will be the outcome of all this. I suspect that Mous will be ruthless. In fact, he needs to be to protect his future, and the club's league status. Sentimentality has to go out of the window. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was a mass clear out, including some fans' favour...

Re: Lincoln City

Tino had a good game.
MPH had moments and I think there is a player there, I think he needs games to see the best of him.

We made 6 changes. But the players we bought in are all good players we didn't play the kids.

Towler played some cracking balls at times too.

Re: Lincoln City

Managed to secure some tickets in one of the Lincoln stands. Game was scrappy and bad tempered but Lincoln lacked any quality and we could have had a couple more. Lost count of how many players were booked. Seven Pompey Players 3 Lincoln and three Pompey Staff. The Referee just lost it! It was rath...

Re: Looking ahead to the Championship

Can't comment on which players have what it takes to step up to Championship level, as I have no clue. However, my guess is that, as a whole, the team isn't too far away from being able to at least have a reasonable shot at surviving next season. But 'Championship quality' players cost more, and ex...

Re: Looking ahead to the Championship

Re Rag, I may be alone in thinking this but I see him as being a bit like Primus, unspectacular but reliable and effective. Hope he stays even as a squad player Like Primus you always think he's not going to make the grade this season and invariable he did. I guess much depends on Pooles fitness, b...

There is a waiting list of over 1000 for season tickets, it was said on the commentary today.

Re: Most enduring moment this season

I think Chesterfield was a big moment too. We lost two players that day, we also played crap,.

I think Tino has looked sharp since coming back, for the right price and the right contract I think he looks like the sort of rough diamond that might be worth keeping in our collection.
