Re: Mahlon Romeo arrives on a season long loan
I saw him when we played Millwall in the League Cup. He had a very good game, and repeatedly teamed up with Jed Wallace to gve Ogilvie and Curtis a tough time on their RH side. That was playing as a wing-back with three CBs, so definitely gives Cowley that option. I would also suggest that he is goo...

Re: Wigan
BFTG (a bit late, back, slept and had brunch). The positive from this game was that for an hour we looked a class above Wigan. Unfortunately, in that time, not only did we not score, but we didn't really look like scoring. It was then almost inevitable that when Wigan got 20 minutes on top that they...

Re: Any transfer rumours??
I always feel a bit of sympathy for local journalists. They have to provide copy, even on days when nothing happens. It was bad enough with print media when a couple of Pompey PR-driven articles per day was enough, but with websites and social media a steady stream of articles is demanded by readers...

Re: Third Kit Released - Thoughts?
I rather like the dark red training kit in which the players warm up before matches. It doesn't seem to be available on-line, but does anyone know if it is the shop?

Re: Any transfer rumours??
No, and I think that's a good thing. Conduct negotiations in private and tells us when it's a done deal.

Re: Can I be the first to...
Today's good news. Ipswich twice gave up the lead at home to MK Dons. The stats would suggest that Dons had the better of the game as well.

Good to see Downing on the bench; I feel better with some proper CB cover.

Re: Cowley open to Callum Johnson departing
Depends how unhappy Johnson is at the moment. I am sure being back-up to Freeman and then getting sent off at Millwall when he had his opportunity isn't how he saw the season going. If he is really determined to go somewhere else, then it is probably best to let him go, and sort out any issues later...

Re: Curtis
Can't see any reason why he would want to go to Preston, who the snooze say are interested in signing him. Preston look a good bet to be relegated at the moment Just guessing here, but it might be that going to Preston would give Curtis a better chance of being a regular starter than at some other ...

Re: Curtis
I get the impression (and it is only that) that we have a verbal agreement with Curtis that we will let him go to a Championship side if we get an agreed amount offered, and it would be difficult to go back on that however late the offer. I don't think we can get a replacement of the necessary quali...

Re: Shrewsbury
It's time Trevor Kettle retired Bill. He is 55 in December. As for Curtis I felt he was the victim of several dreadful challenges, as he often is, which went unpunished by the hapless Kettle. This (both parts). It seemed that the Shrewsbury tactic for dealing with Curtis was to foul him as every op...

Re: Reeco FH
He certainly has pace and skill, even if his right foot needs a bit of extra work at the moment! He also has the classic skilled player problem of product. He does a nice bit of skill or two, and then the pass is either not seen, ignored or poorly executed; good, good, bad rhythm. It was most notic...

Re: Bazunu - What did people think of him on Saturday? Is he #1 choice?
Bazunu was excellent last night, and I have no problem with him as No.1, although I am not sure where this leaves Bass for the future. However, before we get carried away, just to note a couple of Bazunu negative points. Firstly, he doesn't come for crosses at all. He will only take a high ball if i...

Re: Shrewsbury
A big credit to Connor Ogilvie. So far, he has had to play CMF for the first time ever, with 24 hours notice as a possibility and then confirmation in the warm-up at Fleetwood; LB against Millwall where he didn't get much cover; now LCB against Shrewsbury. During the first half Raggett and Robertson...
