Form Table - Top 7 in L2 against each other
Not sure if any of you saw this on Twitter yesterday. Whatever happens with our result against The Cobblers we will top this mini league which must be encouraging for the play-offs:
Pompey P11 W6 D3 L2 21 points
Oxford P12 W6 D2 L4 20 points
Northampton P11 W5 L2 D2 17 points
Accrington P12 W4 D3 L5 15 points
Plymouth P12 W3 D3 L6 12 points
Wimbledon P12 W2 D5 L5 11 points
Bristol Rovers P12 W2 D4 L6 10 points
Our problem was clearly our form against the bottom seven!

Bodes well if we DO get to League One.Selsey Bill wrote:Our problem was clearly our form against the bottom seven!

The Northampton numbers don't add up.

Oops - well spotted! It should read W5 D4 L2 = 19 points so actually makes no differenceThe Cincinnati Kid wrote:The Northampton numbers don't add up.

Except if they beat us on Saturday, which would put them on 22pts. Which of course won't happen

So...should we be playing a largely reserve team for the last game?

I think Bill is hoping for us to finish in 6th as he couldn't make the away leg otherwise. The Cincinnati Kid wrote:So...should we be playing a largely reserve team for the last game?
I, on the other hand, am hoping we finish 5th, so I can make the home leg.

You are right in some respects though I would like to beat Northampton just to prove a point and keep the momentum going.Locky_McLockface wrote:I think Bill is hoping for us to finish in 6th as he couldn't make the away leg otherwise. The Cincinnati Kid wrote:So...should we be playing a largely reserve team for the last game?

Our record against the bottom 7: P14 W5 D6 L3. Thats why we're in the play-offs

I tend to agree. Form against the better teams is good and other than a couple of blips recently, our form in general has been good. If we can beat N'ton, then confidence and form going into the play-offs would benefit I think. Plymouth will probably beat Hartlepool, so we want to be in the same position and I'd favour the Sunday home game, as maybe I could go
