Didn’t realise this, but Aidan McGeady has been playing with a broken foot and a ton of anaesthetic for the past few matches.

If it wasn’t so close at the top of the table, his season was over last week.

I'm sure Gary O'Neill used to play for some time with pain killers. I remember waiting outside the ground with my son after one match and he came out on crutches. I asked if he'd injured himself and he said it was the same after every game. So he could run around the pitch for 90 minutes, kicking a ball and probably getting trodden on etc. But after the game he couldn't walk without a crutch! Didn't Tony Adams have pain killers before every match too? There must be a quite a few players that are crippled by the time they retire :(
Like many, trust few and always paddle you own canoe.
