O/T better than Google, treating new decking
Hi, I have just had some decking put down which has the basic treatment, do I stain it or use deck oil? I have looked all over the net but cant seem to get the same answer. Thanks

Hardwood or softwood ? If hardwood here is something from Owatrol called Seasonite for 1st year deck protection. Not cheap but good stuff.
Here it is http://www.silvatimber.co.uk/wood-care/ ... onite.html

depends what look you are going for. I just did mine with oil and protection as i wanted a natural finish.

Do not use stain-unless you want to redo it every two years

You could always take it to the Zoo afterwards.
