I'm not sure if i find that amusing because it means Redknapp isn't first choice, or because 99% of the media didn't take Hodgson seriously.

Roy is far more experienced and successful in international management by a country mile.
He's got a plan C.

This makes me feel warm all over. Shame this news didn't break before the Spuds match.

So who would replace him at West Brom.... Michael Appleton might just be tempted, but would he have enough experience for them.

I'll be bitterly disappointed if Redkrapp doesn't get the job as I was really looking forward to all his buddies in the media turning on him when he fails to inspire England to Euro or World Cup success. I can't imagine how messy that could get :)

I honestly thought he'd be a brilliant England manager, not that I like him in anyway, but is there a manager out there that will just create a side for now, rather than the future...?

His ego would be perfect for the job!

These players don't need coaching, just protecting - Harry is the man, hodgson although perfectly ready for this job would not be the players choice! And sadly in today's game that is the difference*

* Chelsea being a prime example.

Hodgson does have quite a long and varied CV but I don't think he's really ever achieved much in respect of winning major trophies (although neither has Redknapp) and probably imagine he's a bloke best suited to a situation where the pressure is less. Yes, he did manage Inter for a short while but they were a pretty poor side at that time and quite frankly most of his career has been in charge of non-entities. I'd say he's got a bit of international experience over Harry but other than that I'd easily favour Sloppy Chops...
