I'm not sure which would be worse to go through - the first one which came down with far king great bump, or the second one which didn't come down at all......

You'll be fine, just remember to wear the brown trousers. Oh and explain before the landing that you have Tourettes, so it's not your fault.

saw something similar to this a couple of days ago, the plane was trying to land sideways to counteract the wind (Crabbing - they straighten up o the point of touchdown with the runway ) but had to abandon the manovour and landed at it's alternative instead

Absolutely. I've been on planes that have 'swerved a bit' during landing, but that would put the fear of God into the most seasoned traveller.
