I'm sure Joey Barton knows more about football than Shearer though!

A couple of months ago Shearer analysed Torres's lack of form. One of the clips showed a Chelsea player with the ball on the byline, running towards the goal. Torres was in space on the edge of the box. Shearer decided that Torres should have made a run to either the near or far post, ignoring the fact that these areas were infested with defenders and that he was already in a great position to receive the ball and, to boot, not marked! It just shows that Shearer knows nothing about attacking play and just proves that some great strikers really do rely on instinct.
Oh, and he's a scummer.
