Beeb have signed a deal with the Prem to keep the highlights on the Beeb until the end of the 2015/16 season - they can also have each programme on iPlayer from midnight on the following Monday.

I'd actually prefer (BBC and ITV) to just show the highlights and keep the misguided opinions to themselves. If there's contoversial decision, I can see it myself etc, I don't need Lawro and Hansen telling me what's happening. Linekar needs to stick to crisp eating.

Personally I think neither have anything of value to offer when co-commentating. But by the slimmest of margins I'll take Lawrenson's stating-the-obvious and unfunny puns over Townsend's watching-an-entirely-different-match-and-just-saying-any-old-b*ll*cks-so-he'll-get-paid.
