Ah, the 'ACME Random Insult Generator 3000'. A fine machine.

Did you know there is an online version now?

For me, it's gotta be Simon Cowell.

Well, I don't actually know him but hey-ho...

IMHO there is too much trial by media especially 24hr tv. Sorry but it's part of the culture where folk merge what they see in fiction on TV with the real world. Let the police do their job properly and lets hope they get this right.

Are you for real?

Just checking if this thread is an 'in joke' or something because if not you really are coming across like a bit of a dick...

It has been summarily decreed by self-appointed moderators that it is forbidden for us to mention such matters or indulge in any "speculation". I humbly apologise as my original post will clearly have serious repercussions on the Philpotts having any chance of a fair trial should a prosecution occur.

How could I not know this?! For shame.

In future, whenever we see news like this, we are expected to keep our opinions to ourselves. I hope that is clear.

That precisely such discussions are being held elsewhere without some arbitrary restriction demanded by the easily upset is wholly redundant. 'Freedom of speech' does not apply to this forum.

People are suggesting you don't speculate, but rather you should be very careful in your speculation. You've highlighted a caveat in your post, but that only goes to highlight this part:
Bagosora et al killed what they believed to be, in their warped and twisted minds, members of an enemy entity. The victims were also strangers and were killed at the hands of others.

The Philpotts have no such 'defence' and committed the absolute and ultimate betrayal of their children's trust. The press conference (and maybe I refused to suspect this was all part of a classic police investigation strategy) showed no suggestion of mental breakdown.
You have no idea what kind of defence is needed, or even if a defence is required to begin with.

Yeah, thanks for that, Chief. Maybe you'd better stick with the sharks.

Now you are clumsily back-pedalling. Very clumsily.

Who are you to decide when and how people can speculate? This is an informal online message-board, not a courtroom.

The rest of your post is just...well, desperate, disjointed and incoherent. I hope your dissertation saw more thought and planning.

I must admit when they appeared at their press conference I did say to the significant other that a ) why are there characters from Shameless on the news? and b) whenever the police parade people at a press conference they seem to be doing it purely to give them enough rope to do the needful. What’s the odds they had a barrage of body language specialists, psychologists etc watching and taking notes.

In all seriousness though, discussing on an internet forum is fair game if you ask me, it goes with out saying though that this is a human tragedy.

Yes my undergrad (and my masters) dissertation had more thought and planning than a quick post pointing out a relatively simple point to a **** on the internet.

I hope you're not using the standard of anyone's posts on here as a benchmark for yours.

Y'know, I long considered a PhD to be well beyond my humble capabilities.

I'm not so sure now.

Might be a bit of a laugh...

Everyone is entitled to an opinion , I just thought HH saying Evil was a little OTT , Just my opinion though , he is perfectly entitled to his .

My thoughts are that IF they started the fire , it was possibly started so the place would be destroyed and thery would get a new place ( which they had asked for ) , BUT it went Horribly & Tragically worng , so Mansluaghter not Murder .

Just hope when the police get the people that did this , they get the correct ones !!!
