BBQ Food porn
After the recent semi decent weather and a thread about favourite foods that seeemd to collect a fair few posts I thought I would ask everyone;
'what is your favourite BBQ food item that isn't a sausage or a burger?'

Corn on the cob covered in BBQ sauce - a messy delight.

i know they are burgers or sausages but i really like Venison ones, they are so much lower in fat than pork and have a really nice taste.

i made the school boy error of starting this when hungry, now I am reading it I am starving and need a beer. ho hum.
I made flat naan style breads and cooked them on the BBQ at the weekend to go with other stuff, they were awesome and really easy to make. 1/2 kilo flour, half a pint of tepid water, half a quick action yeast sachet and a good springle of salt. I brushed them with garlic and rosemary oil as they cooked and they looked the business.
Vension sausages do not count as pleb bbq food, i was more thinking the walls 'lips n ******' filled ones

I'm with Wimbledon. Barbecued food is rubbish. Undercooked, overcooked nonsense. bl**dy things are just about hot enough for cooking when it's time for everyone to go home or else they're ready too soon. You have to carry all the stuff out, clean off the burnt bits from the last ones efforts, forget something, go back in for it, have an argument. And gas barbecues are cheating and let's face it, there's something terribly naff about a gas one. People with gas barbecues enjoy cleaning their cars and have those leaf blowers. Fact. I did a survey.
I love all the salads, breads, olives etc that go with the ritual but stick the food in the oven.

The butchers in the Bridge do a nice line of ostrich burgers, or there are Welsh Dragon sausages from Bransbury Park Butchers, a sausage with a kick.

Stephen Humby butchers in Tangier road do a good selection of barbecue meats and gourmet sausages.
