Put yer money where your mouth is
Ok, great win by Liverpool today (tho' credit to City). Chelsea grind out a win v Swansea.
Now most of us (shirley) want a win for the scousers in case the "million squidz" is true. But putting that aside, please pick your team for the title. (preferably before Tues & Weds games).
Kicking off: Man City*
(*may be a bit of 'reverse psychology' there).

Hoping Liverpool but.......Chelsea
and there's no way the million squid is true.
We have always been sheet with tranfers out deals and adding clauses.

I think Chelsea may win at Anfield. But ultimately...The Cincinnati Kid wrote:Hoping Liverpool but.......Chelsea

Point taken on the £1m. Tho' does seem to have some legs from somewhere - maybe Pini Zahavi gets a million if they win it?

Or Marc Jacobs.....or Daniel Azougy....or Peter Storrie......but it won't be Pompey.WheresWally/ScottMcGarvey wrote:Point taken on the £1m. Tho' does seem to have some legs from somewhere - maybe Pini Zahavi gets a million if they win it?The Cincinnati Kid wrote:Hoping Liverpool but.......Chelsea

Liverpool will argue we're a different concern now, different company name to the one that is owed the million sovs.

As we've inherited all the 'football debts' it's only right that we will be in line for any payouts due, we're still getting the parachute payments to date, so as far as the League is concerned we are still the same Club. From the Ashes wrote:Or Marc Jacobs.....or Daniel Azougy....or Peter Storrie......but it won't be Pompey.WheresWally/ScottMcGarvey wrote:Point taken on the £1m. Re: Put yer money where your mouth is
I believe that the scousers will do it, they seem to have the momentum and desire to do it at the moment, Chelski scraped a win against a ten man Swansea yesterday and the Pool showed great spirit to win against a very strong Man City.
Pool for me.
Pool for me.

The problem is that £1m isn't ever £1m - VAT for a start will be applied, then there are those who are entitled to a slice of the pie which Johnson and the agent involved (not Pini thankfully) will likely be entitled to. Don't forget Mr 5% Storrie himself.
Who knows exactly what will be left? Certainly at least 50% of the remainder will be paying off football creditors.

It means as the inheritors of PFCs history wee are entitled to all monies due to previous incarnations of the club

I missed that from Earl. I agree, if football creditors debts are passed then so are the credits. Sorry Earl but that's nonsense. Here comes AFC wrote:The joys of the much maligned football creditors rule. From the Ashes wrote:Liverpool will argue we're a different concern now, different company name to the one that is owed the million sovs.

My mate , big Liverpool fan , is very surprised that this said clause is still active. He said that Johnson joined Liverpool in June 2009 and one would have thought that such a clause would have said something along the lines of "if we win the league in the next 3 years" rather than "if we win the league at some time in the future and Johnson is still playing for us"
Everyone says David Beckham is not very intelligent. No-one says that Professor Stephen Hawking is a rubbish footballer!

Re: Put yer money where your mouth is
I would like to see Liverpool win it - if only for the possible £1M (that as a hardened Pompey fan, I just can't believe will ever happen). But I have a sneaking suspicion that the special one will pull off a smash and grab at Anfield. City will lose at Everton too.
So I'll go for Chelski.

Re: Put yer money where your mouth is
Heart says Liverpool and they have played some good stuff this season but I wonder if they can keep their run going and have a sneaky feeling Norwich of all people might be a banana skin for them.
Head says The Special One will pull it out of the bag
That means Citeh will win it

If Citeh and Chelski win all their remaining games then Citeh are champions.itsaintfunny wrote:Heart says Liverpool and they have played some good stuff this season but I wonder if they can keep their run going and have a sneaky feeling Norwich of all people might be a banana skin for them.

Such as the, I don't know, next '5' years?rumourmonger wrote:My mate , big Liverpool fan , is very surprised that this said clause is still active. 2009 wasn't that long ago.
