LALA league 2014/5

Post by Thats Rich »

Mods please can you sticky this - thanks.

Dear all,

Now USPF is well into LALA retirement and I volunteered to keep it going I thought that I should at least start it off as time is getting short.

The overall league will be run as normal.
The head to head league will commence once I find out how many entries there are from week 1.
The F-all cup will be run as per last year with all league entrants entered into the comp.
The Euro league running will be governed by the number of entries.

This competition was started by Tinky-Winky (hence the name) and has been run for too many years than I care to remember.

This competition is available to all posters with new entrants especially welcome.

The first 4 weeks fixtures will be posted this weekend.

Good luck to all who decide to give it a go.

Thanks.

I haven't played for a long time so a refresher would help. Thanks.

Evening TR, assuming you get sufficient interest to go ahead (sure there'll be a late surge as kick-off approaches), I'll happily predict for the overall league/head-to-head compos but not the F-all Cup and Euro compos. Cheers :thumb

By the way, if there's enough support I shall run the Swanwick Saint Memorial Cup again later this year, same format as last time. This November it will be 10 years since Dougie passed on so would be good to mark the anniversary.

In brief you predict the scrore of the given matches. You get 3 points (max) each game if you predict correctly (say you predict 3-1 and the result is actually 3-1), 1 point if you get the result but not the scoreline (say you predict 3-1 and the result is actually 2-1) & nothing if you get it wrong. :thumb

...and to play you simply reply to the relevant post each week with all of your predictions. Games to be predicted are listed in the opening post of each thread.

The organiser does the rest.

Same predictions used for the various forms of the game, ie. the head to head, divisional tables, and overall table.

If theres FA Cup / Europe then special posts will be made for these, but essentially its just another thread to reply to.

I think Bluesbro's reply sums it up rather well, thanks mate.

Rubi it is so simple and easy to do - if you look at the LaLa thread Northender has already predicted the week 1 scores so you can see how it is done.

The head-to-head compo is just that. Each week you play a different player and the total scores of each player give the match result. 3 points for a win and 1 point if you get the same weekly score.

FA Cup is like a head-to-head game with replays as required.

Euro game format will be dependent on entry numbers and will be explained later.

Cheers and hope you enjoy it.
