Re: Oh My God!
Malaysia is a known hot-spot for funding Islamic terrorism so perhaps there was someone who had annoyed the Russians?

Re: Oh My God!
If the pro-Russians did shoot this plane down, this little domestic has just become international.
And with the number of cameras in that part of the world, someone may well have imagery of it coming down.
Those poor souls on board.

For sure the Yanks will have plenty of aerial coverage of this region at the moment, i am sure they will be able to clear it up very soon on where the missle came from.HappyHour@TheBreweryOfLife wrote:If the pro-Russians did shoot this plane down, this little domestic has just become international.

This could get international very quickly and to be honest it is rather scary, Schiphol is a favourite connecting point for flights from the US and other major european hubs.

Re: Oh My God!
I agree. ATM there are far too many flash points in the world & an escalation usually due to countries taking sides could be catastrophic. Time for those that want to (& those that don't ) to get around the conference table, sadly though I cant see that happening. Very worrying.Portchester PFC wrote:For sure the Yanks will have plenty of aerial coverage of this region at the moment, i am sure they will be able to clear it up very soon on where the missle came from.HappyHour@TheBreweryOfLife wrote:If the pro-Russians did shoot this plane down, this little domestic has just become international.

And now Israel have begun a ground offensive in the Gaza strip.

Re: Oh My God!
Is this the same airline that recently lost a plane?
They have no excuse for shoddy safety yet again. This is a known warzone, aircraft have been shot down in this region, a fighter was shotdown in the last 2 days, pilot ejected. It doesn't really matter which side did it....I'm sure neither side did it on purpose....butas everybody knows, **** happens in the warzone.
So wtf is this airline flying over this zone?
US pilots have been told by the State Dept not to fly over this airspace for months.

Re: Oh My God!
That doesn't look good for the rebels Mr. Transportation.
Still.....I can't fathom why all these airlines have been flying over this airspace all this time.....did it not occur to anyone?
According to the beeb, all the major Euro airlines have now halted flying over this space......brilliant!...where were you last week?

IF true, it's an even bigger **** up by Putin. You don't bring down a 777 flying at 30,000 + ft with a Kalashnikov or RPG.Lost in Transportation wrote:If this is true, its a f*ck-up by the rebels.

Haven't the ruskis made an agreement with the Cubans to re open a listening station in Cuba?
I also assume this is the end of the airline now too irrespective of what role they may have played in this and the previous incident.
