Bit odd since Awfs knew how he was going to set the team up before he brought Drennan here...unless he's decided that now he's dispensed with his wing-back system then Drennan is no longer required.
Or maybe he's just not that impressed with Drennan but doesn't want to upset him or burn any bridges in case we do need him in future.

However I find this comment a little odd:
‘It didn’t work with Drenno unfortunately.
‘Michael’s loan is up tomorrow and we won’t be extending it, so he will go back today.
‘I spoke to him yesterday and unfortunately we are not quite playing the way to suit him, so I am not going to keep him.
‘I think Michael is a very good player, I really do, but the way we are playing at the moment is not going to suit him.
‘There is no point him staying as a loan player if he is not going to play.’
I tend to agree. The way this also came right out of the blue is slightly intriguing as a couple of weeks ago MD was spouting off about he was going to get us some goals. I'd imagine one of three things has happened:
1. Awfs has someone else in his sights who he believes will be better
2. Awfs has seen enough of him and just doesn't rate him
3. Drennan has had his nose put out of joint as others (eg Storey) are being favoured
In any case, I'll never forget the goal he scored for us at Dagenham away last season - pure class.
The ghost of Stevo Cotterill must still be walking the halls. Footy managers are soooo unimaginative with nicknames....hmmm...just remove the last letter or two and add "o"!
Could have gone with:
Drenners
Drenders
Drenderado
Drens
The Dren man
