Harry Roberts...

Post by Milkins »

...whom I had completely forgotten about for the last 40 years, has been released from prison.

Despite the campaigning of the Fratton End songsters, I shall not be voting for him.

He'd probably make a good UKIP candidate if he wasn't barred from standing.

One of the songs I remember from long ago - "Vote vote vote for Harry Roberts..." just as the chubby bobby ambled along in front of the Fratton End. Certainly not suitable in this day and age...

I'm not so sure, I can imagine Westwood and co starting it up again.

Stolen from the BBC Dennis Potter play IIRC Nigel Barton. Ah good times.

Yes, memories, I remember the "Harry Roberts song". Sung when we were getting hassle from the "Boys in Blue"

Almost missed that it is my 2,000th post!

Sad!

I remember this song:-

Harry Roberts is our friend is our friend is our friend
Harry Roberts is our friend
He kills coppers

With the last line spat out loud and venomously at any police walking along the side of the pitch. I can't remember the "vote" song at all. It's weird what we remember (or don't, in my case).
