Yup, I turned on SSN a little before 5 and saw the score as it came in. Just one utter mad bastard of a result. I'm trying to remember Pompey hitting a 6 away from home before?brian lewis wrote:Just got in. WTF is going on?????????

"In your face duchess of Cambridge" was our 9 year old daughters reaction when the score came up. I explained that it wasn't particularly polite but as it probably won't happen again in her lifetime I'd overlook it.

According to the Prediction thread you forecast a 0-0 draw - now you're saying you bet on us to win! The narrative seems a little inconsistent........Pompey1985 wrote:That's why I bet on us to win.. Shame a few others are losing.

Being the age that I am I remember well the 6-3 beating of Leyton Orient, the last time we scored six goals away from home. Walking up to Drayton to buy our "Football Mail" printed on blue paper. The Pompey Sailor with his thumbs up and a smile from ear to ear. A list of goals as long as your arm Ron Saunders (3) Micky Lill (2) & good old Albie McCann (1)

Two Varsity teams (Oxford,Cambridge) two away wins, what a shame there aren't more Varsity away games.

Certain presenter on Soccer AM might not be so cocky next Saturday.

Good man! (7 years before I was born.. ) Did you see the Bobby Kellard interview? When he had his beard, was a ringer for my old man. Sounds about as tough an' all. A late 60's Mick Kennedy?BlueinPLtwenty wrote:1963? (quote Wally)

Deliberately avoided looking up our result last night so I didn't risk ruining a night out on the lash.....woke up about an hour ago and just couldn't Adam and Eve it when I saw the result. Even Taylor scored...and he laid on another one for Tubbs to complete his hat trick. Joy is unbounded in this household.
Noted Awfs interview on the Beeb site - the interviewer said something to the effect that Andy must be pleased after recent matches where not too many chances had been created for Tubbs. Awford said he disagreed and felt that plenty of chances had been created in recent games it's just that we took them against Cambridge. Mmm....well....congrats is due to you on the win Andy but stop taking the delusion tablets....those recent games have stats associated with them that tell a different story.
Still, this is no time for anything other than celebration. Let's hope this is all about keeping a steady team selection and the understanding following on as a consequence.
