Watched an hour of 'pat a cake cricket'. As bumble said - " they're having a net". No footwork against the 'spinner', general lack of urgency. England shoud have scored nearer to 400. Net run rate matters!

I heard that too, and thought he was talking out of his ****. It wasn't great tv cricket, but we were still going at practically a run a ball. We were doing exactly what this England team is good at, crafting runs and working the ball into the gaps - not bludgeoning them out of the ground. The Scots took all the pace off the ball which makes it far harder to play aggressively. Something New Zealand learned when they lost seven wickets chasing down Scotland's 146.

The last 20 overs were a little disappointing and we should have been looking at defending 350-360, but 307 was more than enough for Scotland with our seamers. A slightly bigger net run-rate would have been good, but I'll take a comfortable win first.

Just felt relief that we'd won and that someone had stepped up to the plate with the willow. Well done, Moeen Ali and well done to Finn, too, who was coming back after a right pasting.
