They know they didn’t do so well last week. We’re hoping it’s a one-off and we’re sure it will be, so we’re ready to go again.
Well if last week was a one off we would be top of the league, but way to many bad performances this year.

"THEY didn't do well"
"WE are ready to go again"
So it's THEY when we lose, WE at all other times is it , Andy?

According to Shaun Cooper,in his news interview, Richie Barker used to apply the same logic! The similarities between the two managers are beginning to merge.Earl Grey wrote:

Also, in AA's post match interview he said nothing of the sort IIRC. More like, we did ok and deserved to get something out of the game, or some other b0££ox like that

Or it is taken out of context then built into something meaningful when it is nothing of the sort. Lets see the full transcript...Selsey Bill wrote:Great spot!Earl Grey wrote:"THEY didn't do well"

They probably wanted to say more. But they couldn't just yet.Lost in Transportation wrote:Or it is taken out of context then built into something meaningful when it is nothing of the sort. Lets see the full transcript...Selsey Bill wrote:Great spot!Earl Grey wrote:"THEY didn't do well"

The previous sentence was: ‘The players are, too. I can see it in training this week.
Followed by: ‘They know they didn’t do so well last week. We’re hoping it’s a one-off and we’re sure it will be, so we’re ready to go again.’
Prior to these sentences, lots of "we" usage also. So the only sentence where "they" are used is in context to the players understanding they need to perform. No us or them. Just a logical sentence construction.
