Nature is brutal innit
So every year I set up a hummingbird feeder and every year they show up around the 1st week of May. They like red so the feeder is red and I put red flowers nearby in case they like real flower food. Mostly they prefer the sugar water though.
Anyhoo, I'm sitting out watching one of them feed, sipping on my pinot and dragging on the Cuban.
Out of nowhere a dark shadow blots out the sun. A hawk the size of a small dog swoops in and that's the end of 1 hummer.
Brutal.

Div III. Call it what it is.

Surely you are an accessory to this murder, or humicide.

Nature is definitely brutal - but we're supposed to know better...

Re: Nature is brutal innit
Saw a Sparrowhawk catch, defeather & eat a starling in my neighbors garden. The thing was I assumed the starling was dead after being defeathered & partially eaten but it was moving its head even then.
It is brutal but its natures way.
