Massively hysterical - it will without question be regularly defaced. Morons.

bl**dy ugly.
I know social media and The Snooze are trying to put a Pompey / Soton colours view on this. But I would also hate it if it was blue.
Tower works as an advert as it is.
Further destroying the Harbour entrance. Lets make The Still & West a Costa, The Round Tower a McDonalds and The Square Tower a Tesco Express.
Arguement is that it will give £700,000 a year to the council coffers. Need to cut £11M a year apparently. Drop in the ocean compared to insulting a lot of locals. And if anybody seriously thinks that the likes of us who live in Pompey / Southsea are going to benefit are poor sadly deluded fools.

Do we know how much PCC will be making from this? I can't think it's an unbelievably massive amount.

In a statement, the airline said: ‘The new agreement which will span five years and is worth £3.5million will see Emirates’ eye-catching red branding running up the length and breadth of the Tower. Sir Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline and Leader of Portsmouth City Council, Councillor Donna Jones fittingly announced the new partnership 105 metres in the air.’

Despite the length of the deal they won't give a ****** about the tower or Portsmouth after the Americas Cup, this is just a great marketing opportunity for them.

Am I the only person who thinks they're making it look a bit like an enormous fanny?
