With that in mind when are they going to start fining & adding points onto the licences of drivers who drive far too slowly on Motorways, IMO its a dangerous as people batting along like loonies. You know the sort, they are in a world of their own & are so slow that people joining the motorway often have a helluva job getting onto it because these twits are dawdling along.
Or truck drivers who insist on overtaking another one & overtake @ a speed 1mph more than the the one they're overtaking causing dangerous bunching especially @ peak times. I'm all for lane hoggers getting done but there are other things that need sorting as well.

The down side of this strategy is that, much of the time, I enjoy the inside lane all to myself and pootle along merrily at 70mph with my indicator stalk untouched...

No need to think of this new "strategy" as a downside, HH.HappyHour@TheBreweryOfLife wrote:The down side of this strategy is that, much of the time, I enjoy the inside lane all to myself and pootle along merrily at 70mph with my indicator stalk untouched...
There are many classes of motorway user limited to 60mph (see below) so you can now enjoy yourself in the middle lane overtaking all those vehicles so constrained (plus Citroen Berlingos).
Cars, motorcycles, car-derived vans and dual-purpose vehicles when towing caravans or trailers
Buses, coaches and minibuses (more than 12 metres overall length)
Goods vehicles (not more than 7.5 tonnes maximum laden weight) if articulated or towing a trailer
Goods vehicles (more than 7.5 tonnes maximum laden weight) in England and Wales)
Goods vehicles (more than 7.5 tonnes maximum laden weight) in Scotland
