The Carlisle penalty was very close. Remember the line is part of the penalty box. I have no sympathy for players (and TV pundits) who claim fouls are not penalties because they are an inch outside the box after multiple replays of the foul. It was a reckless challenge.

The Pompey non-penalty was a joke. However, I do wonder, it being more of a barge than a chopping foul and the attacker moving away from goal, if the referee would have given it if he had known it was inside the penalty area. Maybe the foul outside was a compromise decision! I know none of this should count, but referees are strange beasts.
