Appears we have missed out on Tom Nichols from Exeter.

Hate to say it, but this is a good move for Nichols. Peterborough still have a chance of being in the play-offs, and then the Championship next season. Even in L1, they have an excellent record of giving players a chance, and then not standing in their way if they want to move upwards. One of the clubs you'd recommend to a young player.

AIUI, emergency loans are by definition recallable in order to comply with UEFA regulations re the transfer window. Of course, gentlemen's agreements exist here. But the other issue is that ELs only last for 93 days which is shorter than the season (particularly an extended play-off season).
You're correcting me all over the place today, aincha? Thank you for clarifying. :)

From BBC:

Michael Smith, who we mentioned earlier, has now completed his 93-day loan deal from Swindon Town to League Two side Portsmouth.

By our maths, that means the only Pompey game the forward will miss is their match at home to Northampton Town on the final day.

What??? Surely that is one game we do need him for!! 8)

I notice that Sheff Wed did not sell Lavery (for £500k or at all) and you'd think he might be available in a week's time on loan

Sheff Wed did sign Aidan McGready on loan from Everton so you'd think that Lavery is evem further down the pecking order - and he's out of contract in the summer

Well. by then we'll have had two good looks at Michael Smith - at Morecombe and home to Orient. That's 180 minutes for Cookie to decide.
