New Song

Post by FrattonJ »

Sung in the tune of the song "Give me oil in my lamp".

For Brazil he should play Conor Chaplin.
For Brazil he should play up front.
For Brazil he should play Conor Chaplin.
For Conor Chaplin is a skillful c.u.n.t.

Works for lots of different players: Marc McNulty, Gary Roberts, Kyle Bennett. Could even be sung about Danny Hollands as a joke.

Feel like we need more songs with words in.

This was suggested elsewhere:

Gary Roberts is falling down
Falling down, falling down
Gary Roberts is falling down
It's a penalty

Gary Roberts is up again
Up again, up again
Gary Roberts is up again
Taking the penalty
Watching wheels spin and dust settle.

Haha. Like that, I thought this thread was going to be about that odd chant from last night about Roberts

I always liked a good rendition of "Who's up Lawries bum?" for any ex stripys visiting from that era.

I think we should bring back the oldies but goodies like, "Those Were The Days" by Hairy Mopkin.

Those were the days my friend
We are the Fratton End
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We lead the life we choose
We fight and never lose
Those were the days ...
Oh, yes! Those were the days.
La la la la la-la....etc.

Or how about that old'un by Keith West:

Mr Cook, Mr Cook,
Is it true
What they say
We're gonna win Division Two-oo?"
Stop looking for solutions to symptoms and start identifying the disease.

Ignoring the first post on this thread, it was good to hear a 'new' Pompey song on Tuesday night. Makes a change from the Na na na na na na...ad infinitum
