Re: Michael Smith.
Not sure either of them will be here. I thought Smith was a bit soft for a Big Lad. Now that Adkins has gone from Sheff Utd will McNulty be re-assessed and become unavailable.

Re: Michael Smith.
Not sure Smith would be my first choice, but we could do worse. Certainly Roberts played some of his best football of the season dropping off Smith. Is he out of contract? I wouldn't want to give up much for him.
McNulty has done well for us this season, but I don't think he has a role at Pompey next year. There is general agreement that we need a proper CF-type (Smith or otherwise) if we are going to play 4-2-3-1 (and if it's Cook, then I assume we will be). The centre of the 3 will be primarily filled by Roberts (hopefully fit) and Chaplin needs and deserves a decent amount of playing time. I don't see where McNulty would play.

Re: Michael Smith.
Smith grew a lot whilst he was with us. But I feel there may be better players of his style about.

Re: Michael Smith.
Another one of those forwards who's goals to game ratio makes you wonder how they can still be classed as one.

Re: Michael Smith.
Hallam Hope is 22-ish (I think, maybe 23). He has got some goals here and there, but not in other places, and a bit of pedigree (England youth?). I don't remember him being very big or powerful. If there is any truth in this, I would hope that the idea would be to pick him up as a reserve to the first choice CF and see how he develops.
