Yet again it seemed to be the inclusion of Chaplin, and then Hunt that made the difference. I've been saying this for a few games now, but I would love to see Cook start with Hunt. Apparently Forde pulled off a couple of cracking saves yet again.

Having seen the brief highlights I'd say we were a bit lucky to take all three points. If that penalty had been given against us we'd be very unhappy, and if you watch closely I'm pretty sure Doyle hand balled to block a goal bound shot from the hosts (about 55 seconds on this video):

Looking at the video, I agree that Exeter could be aggrieved with the penalty.....looked highly debatable, but I'm not complaining! Many refs would not have given it but at least it gives us 3 points. So 2 games and a Penalty in each has secured the points - but still don't understand why he won't start with Chaplin. At the moment he looks a class apart and he doesn't need any protection from mean looking centre backs - the kid is more than a little bit special! I acknowledge also that Forde made a couple of decent saves - I am more concerned about him when the grounds get heavy and the ball is like a piece of soap!

Is that because Exeter City also play in that red / white stripy arrangement?

On the penalty: it was a foul, so a penalty by the laws, however it is the sort of thing that you hardly ever see given in the penalty area. Two players running at speed towards the deadball line, attacker slightly ahead but going nowhere except out of play, coming together and the attacker falls over; defenders are going to have to be very careful if refs are going to give those regularly. You can see why Exeter might feel hard done by, but if you are going to play for 0-0 at home, you lay yourself open to one piece of bad luck or genius finishing; they hardly bothered attacking between about 5 minutes in and 5 minutes before the end (when losing), so little sympathy.

Actually no. My mum's family are from Cullompton, and Exeter is the nearest big team. I have loads. Of time for Tiverton fc as well. Saw them at Wembley years ago.
