Adam Barton gone to partick thistle
Life is all about ass. You're either covering it, laughing it off, kicking it, kissing it, busting it or trying to get a piece of it.
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a crate .... coincidence? i think not!!!

Well, one of our number did, sort of:

Good call actually.
Not quite on the level of Jack Wilshere to Bournemouth though. You still running that bar down there? He'll probably be calling in at some point......

Quite sad about Barton leaving.
Decent midfielder but maybe just lacking a killer pass.
As someone else pointed out, if we ever played a sweeper system then he would've been a contender for the role.
Hope he does well for the Thistles.

I thought that move was quite odd - surely the treatment table at the Emirates is more comfortable than the one at Dean Court?Guernsey Blue wrote:Well, one of our number did, sort of:

I'd have thought that with all those grannies in Bournemouth, Rooney would have been a more obvious choice of loan.

Didn't see that coming either, but if you watched Adam Barton's defensive display against Yeovil on Tuesday night, he must have already know - he was shocking. Feel a bit sorry for Barton though as he seems like a decent fellow, and he has played when and where asked, usually out of position at centre back. At times, he has looked very good and always seems very comfortable on the ball, sometimes a little too much so. Perhaps he'll be better suited in a different league in a different role.

I only really saw him play against Plymouth in the play-offs, but I thought he did pretty well, particularly the first game.Selsey Bill wrote:Didn't see that coming either, but if you watched Adam Barton's defensive display against Yeovil on Tuesday night, he must have already know - he was shocking. Re: Adam Barton gone to partick thistle
For me he never looked capable of the physical aspect of the game. Whether in the tackle, general movement or ability to get around the pitch. In midfield he rarely if ever moved out the middle 3rd of the pitch & the sideways passing wasn't what we needed.
I wish him well but for me I wont remember him for long.

I wouldn't disagree and suspect this might have had something to do with the nasty injury he got back in early 2012 when he was playing for PNE? He dislocated his ankle and broke his leg in two or three places putting him out for a yearpompeygunner wrote:For me he never looked capable of the physical aspect of the game.
