Off Licences

Post by Portchester PFC »

Just tried to get a bottle of Whisky for a friend and could not find it anywhere, its not some obscure brand, it appears all our decent off licences are gone as i did a search in Portsmouth and surrounding areas and all that came up was Kwiki Marts etc and unfortunately the super markets didn't have the one i needed. Had to resort to Amazon !!

Used to be loads of decent offy's around.

Are Oddbins, the wine merchants still around? Always used to get the good quality stuff that supermarkets didn't have. Maybe they would have your whiskey too.

Supermarkets have a lot to answer for, I'm spoilt in London though, higher end and specialist off licences are a plenty.
My favourite is on Old Compton Street in Soho, these guys are extremely knowledgable and above it is a private members whilst & cigar club complete with a smoking terrace, perfect!
