Engerland vs Kilt wearers

Post by The Cincinnati Kid »

No wonder we're carp if this is our practice set up ffs. I mean really....can anyone give me any good reason for giant inflatable footballers on the training ground? OK...they're fit more often than Sturridge and smarter than Walcott.....but apart from that.

Free kick practice?

Mind you, based on recent displays, it could be an accurate depiction of the Scottish team.

2=0 Llama....harsh on the Jocks who have had their chances and not taken them. England haven't been good except in the finishing dept.

No, but Spain might go for an England humiliation on Tuesday if our central defence play as they did tonight.

there were 3-4 very dodgy back passes weren't there......on the plus side thought the full backs were the men of the match

I do hope this win does not give England delusions of grandeur - yes the goals were well taken, but the defence was dire in the extreme! Any national team of any stature would have torn this defence to shreds as the Jocks did - the problem with them is that they had no composure in front of goal and spurned chance after chance. The England performance was in fact embarrassing - the 2 centre backs were dire, the midfield played the Paul Cook role of passing backwards and creating nothing except boredom for spectators and talk of Southgate as our next manager is laughable, but will doubtless happen because the FA men in blazers will rubber stamp it because they will endorse anything if it's cheap and wags it's tail when they bark. Southgate at best is a Championship Manager and would not hold down a job in the Premiership (FACT!)

Not a great game at all. Defence was indeed woeful, the profligate Scottish finishing was even worse thankfully.

One thing which did impress me though was the speed we have in this team. Electric pace throughout - Rooney notwithstanding. I think his days are really numbered now.

Watched it down the pub with a few friends. The amount of times the phrase "This is just like watching Pompey" came up was quite amazing. Personally I have never thought Gary Cahill was international class and John Stones whilst being very skillful on the ball is also prone to giving you those nightmare moments with the sheer casual nature of his play. I think he could acquire the nickname "Sorry Lads" because I bet he says that several times during every game.
Everyone says David Beckham is not very intelligent. No-one says that Professor Stephen Hawking is a rubbish footballer!
