Anyone of a certain age will recall how exciting it was when The Man from Uncle was on the telly.

He was always my favourite character in The Magnificent Seven. Tortured by fear, then that one moment of heroism before getting gunned down by an unseen foe.

And I think thats all of the Seven who have passed now.

More recently he played Albert Stroller in Hustle on BBC 1 (2004 to 2012). He played the elderly American guy responsible for ensnaring potential marks. Good series.

My memory of him in that film is the bit where he was terrified he'd lost his touch as a quick draw expert when he caught, iirc, 2 flies with is bare hand and when asked why that wasn't proof he was fast replied that in his prime he'd have caught all 3 flies.
