Chuck Berry RIP :( :(

Post by RubiconCSL »

No, no, no!!!!!!!

Saw him at the Guildhall back in the 80s. Him with one amp, a bass player with one amp, a drummer with a very basic drum kit. No light show. No stage show. Still one of, if not the best, gigs I've ever been to (Shanty excepted of course). He got a standing ovation that lasted several minutes for just walking onto the stage.

Such a part of my musical youth. A real legend.

legend...I also saw him at the Guildhall...early 80's I think.

If only we could erase My Ding-a-Ling but I suppose 90 odd years with only the 1 major fek up is a pretty good run.
I bet anyone that ever picked up an electric guitar tried the riff from Johnny B Goode.
Div III. Call it what it is.

Very sad but that's a decent innings, 90.
Who can forget Michael J Fox in Back to the Future doing Johnny B Goode?
RIP Chuck Berry
