Re: We're Gonna Win The League
It could be an interesting last 2 games. I would imagine Doncaster fans are getting a bit twitchy and Plymouth are within our sights.

Re: We're Gonna Win The League
Just thinking of those home draws where we just needed a striker back in the early / mid part of the season..... those that said it would come back to haunt us were ridiculed. However..... while we have promotion, have we left it too late to win it all?Selsey Bill wrote:If only we'd beaten Plymouth

Re: We're Gonna Win The League
There you all go again with that romantic nonsense and rainbow chasing; let's just close the door quietly and walk away from this poxy league. The only game I've seen this season was at The Park against Crewe and it's left an indelible mark! So I am amazed and really couldn't be happier with where we are!!

Re: We're Gonna Win The League
Door closed. Past is past. The future is back to back promotions into the premiere in two seasons. As a romantic I think Mr. Cook - given the right support - can get us promotion next season. Paul I've spoken badly of you in the past but in reality you've done a really great job. Cheers Mush.
But what's the right support? If football is a business then football is also about dosh. I know money can't buy you promotion but who can deny that it helps? And if we fix up the stadium that's less dosh for Mr. Cook to spend on getting us promoted. So let's not fix up the stadium quite yet Mr Eisner.
Put money into getting us/you promoted next season not into ground safety/category 2 training facilities. Do that and in 1 years time re-imburse the HNWers whatever you've already agreed with them today. As for the PST (me). You can have my one vote then gratis. While I and my father was alive Pompey were stuck in 2nd division. I'd settle for another 22 years of 'maybe we can get into top flight again' but I'm hoping you've the same aspirations as me. A world class footballing brand competing at the very top. An offer getting 75 out of 100 people to agree? Very brave and best of luck with that
We've been sold to crooks in the past. Wasn't it Washington said 'there's no such thing as a good crook"? I'm certain you are not a crook. So if I 'sell out' (vote for you) I hope you are the best one

Re: We're Gonna Win The League
LP you must have had the same Mum as me
Did she also say "The higher up the mountain the greener grows the grass, the higher up the donkey goes the more it shows its ass." (That came from her dad, who lived in Apsley Rd and I can still remember the sound of those big crowds as a kid in the early 50s.)
Be careful what you wish for.

Coshamwreck.
My Mum is not you're Mum unless my Mum had more children than she let on to me or me dad. Also I never heard her say the same words of wisdom that your Mum did. What do I wish for?
To have six or more rich people making me offers to buy my vote (club). I don't need my money back so the sole offer on the table right now had better be a really good one. I can't see us doing it as next week's fixtures are not in our favour. However, it would be great to go into the last match even with an outside chance so that it is not just a celebration game.

Plymouth host Crewe
We go to play-off chasing Mansfield
We need Exeter to do us a favour by getting a point or three if we can beat Mansfield to have that chance on the final weekend.
Watching wheels spin and dust settle.

That's a truism 1985 but Jack_Tinn's sentiment is very much closer to my own.Pompey1985 wrote:If we win the league we deserve it.Jack_Tinn wrote:love the optimism but in reality - we won't and we don't deserve toPortchester PFC wrote:I honestly think we will.
