Kenny Jackett
Looks like a 2 year deal with Joe Gallen as Kenny's assistant.
Betting on Jackett suspended.
They were spotted down at Roko with Catlin.
All done bar the shouting.
Welcome to the club and fans.

Re: Kenny Jackett
Joe Gallen is owner of one of footballs best/worst quotes after last year's takeover at Wolves.
"It's great news for the club going forward, there's no doubt about it."
He was sacked (along with Jackett) the next day!

Re: Kenny Jackett
Spot on the Pompey board. Great L2 manager upgraded to great L1 manager on time and within budget. Great bit of business I think.

Re: Kenny Jackett
I thought that he came over well in the Pompey Player interview.
It looks as if we may see a few young players from the London area arriving in due course!

Re: Kenny Jackett
And here is the new manager's interview:
Interesting according to the filmed interview, and very important in my opinion, that Mr Jackett spoke to Mr Eisner as well as the existing board members.
One of the reported reasons for PC leaving was recently given that PC was - allegedly - not happy with the future plans of Mr Eisner.
I found that comment strange based on the recent broadcast interview with Mark Catlin, CEO of PFC.
One of the points that I took out of that interview was that Mr Eisner wanted to let the current manager and team develop within roughly its current budget, etc. There would be no massive new money for the current team. The investment would be in the H&S for the ground, in the youth set up and other broader building investment in media and brand building. We would not be making a major loss in L1 in order to attract better players, etc.
The manager - PC at that time - would make the footballing decisions each week. You can only wonder what precisely was the problem that Paul Cook would have had with this arrangement.

Milton End is entering a new era with Tornante
Re: Kenny Jackett
Cook was given the chance of being nearer home, loads of extra cash and with a squad that was recently in the Championship and also probably a little less expectation and pressure.Milton End wrote: You can only wonder what precisely was the problem that Paul Cook would have had with this arrangement.
There was no problem with Eisner or a DoF or anything else.
If he'd just told the truth then we'd all be wishing him well.

My interpretation entirely, though that is all it is.Earl Grey wrote:Cook was given the chance of being nearer home, loads of extra cash and with a squad that was recently in the Championship and also probably a little less expectation and pressure.Milton End wrote: You can only wonder what precisely was the problem that Paul Cook would have had with this arrangement.

I was pleased with his appointment before I listened to his interview, but very happy after.

Re: Kenny Jackett
Totally agree, comes across really well and leaves you feeling that we're heading very much in the right direction. Could be our best bit of business this close season! Hats off also to Mark Catlin, what a top CEO he is.

Agree with comments above. I don't think we could have done better. Also, pleased that this has been sorted quickly; the last thing we needed was a managerial search going on all summer. Time to deal with the players in and out and move on to L1.

The mood could so easily have changed so quickly after PC going. We'll done Catlin and the team.
