Carl Baker

Carl was not in the squad for yesterday's game. Kenny Jacket confirmed that he was not injured, so I wonder if it is goodbye.

From Carl Baker's twitter account: (read the lower one first and then see the little scamp has made a joke of it to ensure we all realise he's totally relaxed about it all......maybe!

Still lives in Coventry... Expect he'll be there before the window is out.

Baker has been told that if he can find himself a club before next Thursday, we won't object.

Apparently no interest in him thus far, including no approach from Coventry.

Seen a fair few pics Carl had done with Pompey supporters up at Wigan game, seems like a decent chap and circumstances have gone against him unfortunately.
Have to say he has gone about this in the right way and i for one hope he gets sorted out.

Carl is a good bloke, and a good player, but I think it is time for him to move on

Know a few people who know him outside of football who say he is a top bloke.

His kids wear their Pompey tracksuits around Coventry too.

I expect to see Carl Baker at Coventry in the next few days. Pompey want him to leave; Baker wants to go; Coventry want him. Just a case of the parties arguing about how much of Baker's wages Pompey will pay as compensation for him taking a pay cut to go to L2. Nobody benefits from Baker trotting around the Pompey training ground for 5 months.

I have no problem with Carl Baker. He played well for us when the weather was good and he only had to play 60-70 minutes of a game. However, that's not enough for the money we were paying him. Like Roberts, age has caught up with him and it is time to move on. I wish him well.

I still think he could be very useful for us. But if he wants away then that's that.

I feel we should keep him. Wise old head and we are lacking creativity.
