RIP Tom Petty
Tom Petty has passed on aged just 66.
Was about to retire because he wanted to spend more time with family and friends rather than being on the road. Sadly he didn't quite make it.
Was a wonderful member of the Traveling Wilburys where his dry voice and distinctive accent contrasted so well with the others.

Re: RIP Tom Petty
RIP indeed, never really heard or got into much of his stuff other than the Wilburys who are one of my favourite bands, and that is one of my favourite songs as well.

Re: RIP Tom Petty
I always struggled to like his stuff, whereas Laura loved it. We had planned to see him on his retirement tour, but alas, it won't happen. It is sad for his grandchildren to lose their opportunity to spend quality time, maybe a message for us all.
RIP and I hope you were lifted up, rather than freefalling.
