Great stuff and exactly the message of continuity we want to see from the owners imho. Opportunity to continue and progress the development with a degree of certainty. Happy days.

Suggest to me that, whatever the ups and downs on the pitch, Jackett has been fulfilling the requirements of ownership in terms of general team development. It would appear that there is a long term plan here, and that Jackett is seen as an important part of that. Add in that he has recently been linked with other managerial jobs, then an extension has got to be a good move.

Intriguing! Call me an old cynic but I wonder what triggered this? The interest from Wales?

Has there actually been any interest from Wales, though? I know the bookies were talking about it, but if I recall from when Tony Adams got sacked, the bookies were giving odds on Zico taking over.Selsey Bill wrote:Intriguing! Doubt it is Wales related as this would have been a few weeks in the making.
Someone pointed out elsewhere that this contract has been signed under Tornante ownership whereas the previous contract was under the old regime. Its a significant statement that this is a long term project.

Good point. Also see Neil Allen has now written an article in the News saying this has had nothing to do with the purported interest from Wales and other clubs.Lost in Transportation wrote:Someone pointed out elsewhere that this contract has been signed under Tornante ownership whereas the previous contract was under the old regime.
