Re: checkatrade
Attendance 1780. Got to be the lowest including friendlies. Just goes to show how much this trophy is valued.
Johnny Westwood is there, late as usual as only heard the bell 20 minutes in.

Re: checkatrade
Really poor camera work. Must be a trainee as focusing and keeping up with play is rubbish. He just missed a shot by Main completely. Or perhaps he just knew that Main would miss.
If this is the standard of live action on iFollow then I understand why the take up is poor.

Re: checkatrade
Saw some of the ifollow coverage which was truly dire. Still, the lads seemed to play pretty well from what I saw, and that is the main thing.

Re: checkatrade
Into the last 16. At what point do we start showing any interest in this trophy? By that I mean the fans, as Jackett (unlike Cook) seems to have put out pretty strong teams from the start, and clearly sees it as of some use.

Re: checkatrade
The goals were the result of decent moves. With the prize money, we won't make a loss on this competition. Who knew Lowe was on loan from Man United...

Re: checkatrade
Eric Eisner was complaining on Twitter about Ifollow. Said that he was going to be taking it up with the service providers about the quality of the coverage.
Everyone says David Beckham is not very intelligent. No-one says that Professor Stephen Hawking is a rubbish footballer!

Re: checkatrade
Just watched the short highlights on iFollow. That first goal was excellent - broke up a N'ton attack, great passing and build up to the goal. I'd forgotten I pay for iFollow! I really must try and watch a game on there some time. I know you can't watch live games in the UK, but I'm sure a VPN would deal with that issue

Re: checkatrade
Well, since it was kids for a quid, and big kids for a tenner, Junior_McLockface & I went, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
We played an excellent game of football, and I think other fans would do well to get behind it. KJ obviously values its contribution, and we've won 6 out of the last 7 games in all competitions (including the previous game at Charlton), having lost the previous 4 or 5 games. I say "we" played an excellent game, by that I mean 10 of the 11 players on the pitch played excellently.
Our first goal was a fantastic counter-attack, Haunstrup brought the ball clear of our box from a corner, fed the ball up to Evans, who switched the ball over to Little Conor on the left. He scurried down the wing a little way, crossed the ball, for Evans to complete.
The second goal was a good "sweaty", Thompson on the right cut inside and pulled the ball back to O'Keefe, who hit it first time into the far corner.
Norffampton only had one chance worth mentioning, a header from a corner in the second half, which looked a nailed-on goal, and how McGee saved it, I'm not sure, but he did.
I liked Neil Allen's comment that we were so much better than they were that even Derek Adams would have agreed.
Ratings:-
McGee 7, the aforementioned excellent save, and a couple of punches from crosses and that pretty much sums up his afternoon.
Thompson 7, set up the second goal, solid, and again wasn't challenged massively.
Burgess 8, pretty much won everything in the air
Clarke 9, did win everything in the air, and highly competent coming forward with the ball at his feet. We'll be lucky to retain his services next season, that lad will play in the EPL before he's done.
Haunstrup 8, the Plymouth game was not a flash in the pan, solid at the back, and very confident going forward.
Rose 8, pulled all the strings in midfield, broke up their play well.
O'Keefe 7, a good game without attracting much attention.
Evans 8, strong on the right
Lowe 7, decent game, but needs to learn to cross with his left foot if he's going to play on the left.
Chaplin 8, never stopped running. Started the game in the number 10 position, but seemed to swap with Main in the second half.
Main 5, Dear Lord, what that man is doing wearing a blue shirt, I'm not sure. For a "target" man, he seems unable to judge the flight of the ball, particularly in the second half when playing the number 10 role, so many times the ball skimmed the top of his head, or floated over it completely. Had a glorious opportunity to score, with a carbon-copy of O'Keefe's goal, but shot wide. Seemed to be lacking in strength and definitely lacking in confidence.
Subs:-
Talbot 7, Didn't do owt wrong
Kennedy - only on for a minute or two.
