Charlton pub?
I know it's a bit late to ask this, but is there a decent pint to be had before the match tomorrow, somewhere near the ground?

Anyone else recall standing on that enormous sideline terrace at The Valley? The ground held 60k ish at the time I think.

Re: Charlton pub?
The last time before today that I went to the Valley it was the old ground with the big old bank.
With regards to pubs, most are barring Pompey fans. The only one that is definitely taking us is called the Antigallican though that will be rammed. We're going to have a couple of jars in the Waterloo area and then head into the stadium early as they are selling alcohol from 1.30pm.
Should be a cracking atmosphere - let's hope our performance on the pitch is as good as it will be off it PUP

We didn't bother with drinks before the match, but did sup a couple in Denmark Hill afterwards. All in all it was a brilliant day out.

Last time I went to the Valley was in 1967 when we lost 4-1. The sides were so high you needed oxygen when you got to the top.
You can take the man out of Pompey
