England Squad
Well...I like it...perhaps a tad light in midfield but young and really not a lot of the old guard and no Joe hart.
By an odd quirk of timing, I shall be in Morocco for the opener against Tunisia so that should be an interesting evening!
Goalkeepers: Jack Butland (Stoke), Jordan Pickford (Everton), Nick Pope (Burnley).
Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Fabian Delph (Manchester City), Phil Jones (Manchester United), Harry Maguire (Leicester), Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur), John Stones (Manchester City), Kieran Trippier (Tottenham Hotspur), Kyle Walker (Manchester City), Ashley Young (Manchester United).
Midfielders: Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur), Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Jesse Lingard (Manchester United), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea).
Forwards: Harry Kane (Tottenham), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Jamie Vardy (Leicester), Danny Welbeck (Arsenal).

As a matter of interest who would you pick as first choice ?

Seriously it's a tough call as Mr The Kid says. Let's hope one of them emerges as a natural No.1

Re: England Squad
Yeah, but with a tough choice to make, do you go with the dude that was at the back of a Burnley team that made Europe or do you go with the guy that spent an awful lot of time picking the ball out the back of the net for relegated Stoke?Locky_McLockface wrote:Gotta be Butland.itsaintfunny wrote:Earl Grey wrote:Say it again....No....absolutely NO Joe Hart. Re: England Squad
I read a stat in Junior_McLockface's MotD Magazine which said that the only Prem goalies that made more saves than Butland this season were de Gea and Ederson. Which just goes to show how sh....ocking the Stoke defence was.The Cincinnati Kid wrote:Yeah, but with a tough choice to make, do you go with the dude that was at the back of a Burnley team that made Europe or do you go with the guy that spent an awful lot of time picking the ball out the back of the net for relegated Stoke?Locky_McLockface wrote:Gotta be Butland.itsaintfunny wrote:Earl Grey wrote:Say it again....No....absolutely NO Joe Hart. I don't think you can just chuck Pope in, with just a couple of pre-tourney friendlies as experience - much like you wouldn't bung the U16 goalie in to League 1. Pope has indeed had a good season, but Mee and Tarkowski in front of him have done him favours, whereas Shawcross and Zouma have had an awful season.

Pickford could be a good move.

If I were Southgate I'd make 'Dele' have his surname on his shirt like everyone else!

Re: England Squad
If that's the case, why hasn't he changed his name to Hickford?richisbradders wrote:http://www.skysports.com/football/news/ ... ame-change
Probably fair enough reason
