But then again, I did draw the Krauts in the sweepstake, so not all bad :)

And yet another penalty that should have been given and 5he 5 guys in kit in a darkened room hav3 bottled it yet again. If you are going to have VAR use it ffs and if that means overturning a ref do it

This is something that occurred to me a couple of days ago, whilst considering ENG v TUN.

VAR is only an advisory thing. The final decision still rests with the referee. He can choose to take the VAR people at their word. He can choose to go and have a look for himself on the pitchside screen. Or he can choose to ignore them completely.

If you have a referee who disagrees with the VAR concept, for whatever reason, there's no point the VAR people being there.
