saints are average at best and have put all their hopes on a couple of strikers with dodgy knees and horrific history of being injured.
If you mean us , why comment ?

If you are wondering why I am commenting , I like this board and most of the posters on it .

Do seem a bit random don't it?
Never mind perhaps he's a bit narky cos we're still below Peterborough in the 3rd division.

I'd be a more buoyed by that 4-1 win if Oxford hadn't done an impression of a junior school second eleven all suffering from salmonella poisoning!

Bristol Rovers will be a better test to see if that was a false dawn or whether we have the makings of a serious contender for the play-offs.

On a more positive note, Ben Thompson.....what a player!!!

I agree with all of that, especially the last bit. I think that was the best Pompey debut I've seen at Fratton since Diarra's, not that he's in the same league as Lassie.

Think I'd go with that. I wasn't expecting him to be that good but I was very pleasantly surprised.....better even than Ronan Curtis on his debut.
Wheeler, however, I expected to be outstanding on his debut but he's not up to speed yet....bit disappointing.

Hey....4-1 win and 3 wins from 3....you've got to be happy with that.
However, if you want to tell all us moaners / Jackett questioners / and complainers how brilliant Jackett is and how he's spot on "the man fer the job"..........you gotta come forward before the game!

For me, the big change from the previous games was the fluidity of the midfield. Naylor, Thompson and Evans all moved around, but always in a triangle, rather than the stiffness of the 4-4-2. As a result when we had the ball there was someone pushing on to support the attacking players, and when they had the ball the opposition was closed down quickly and nobody was given time on the ball to play.

Completely agree about the midfield who have pretty much been 'missing in action' up until now. I haven't been the greatest fan of his of late, but I thought Gareth Evans (excepting his penalty which he telegraphed to their keeper) had his best game for us for quite a while. Let's hope the up in performance wasn't a blip, or purely down to Oxford's ineptitude - if we win again tonight in what will be a far sterner test, I might start to believe

This is a message board, and it is absolutely fine for anyone to make positive or negative posts at any time, before during or after games. I do rather object to being told when I or others can make the odd ironic post.

I don't recall having ever said that KJ is brilliant - in my opinion he should be judged like all managers on his performance over a reasonable time, which in my opinion is not after the first two league games of a season, and that was the point that I was rather clumsily trying to make.. However I completely accept and welcome that others have different views - that is what makes this and other message boards so interesting.

Rant over.

Grandchildren have just left after two weeks with us in Cornwall. I love them to bits but suddenly I feel sooo relaxed!

I may have mistaken your mild dig for a fork over!
