Also didn’t we have a referendum to join in the first place back in 1975? The people moaning about the idea of a second referendum now how come you don’t complain we already had one to determine is joining back then? Or is there some sort of idea that it’s ok but there needs to be an arbitrary period of time pass first?
As I recall, there was no referendum to join but there was one to stay in 2-3 yrs after joining which was approved by a large margin.

As for referendums in general, there's a shedload of literature which explains why they are the worst form of democracy. Essentially, the great unwashed, uninformed parts of society get to vote on important carp.
Still....as Winston said....Democracy is the worst form of government.....except for all the others.
To paraphrase George Carlin.

Ref. the previous referendum, it was about the EEC, a totally different animal to the EU, which did not come into being until the early nineties.
The EEC being a trading bloc.
The EU a ................. call it what you like, it will not be around for much longer.

For my own very selfish reasons (dreams of retiring somewhere nice in Europe) I very much hope for and welcome the idea of a second referendum. Watching the Brexit trainwreck unfold from overseas is both painful and perplexing. Like shooting yourself in both feet to trim your toenails.

What`s to stop you from retiring somewhere in Europe, people were retiring there long before the club was invented.

Need for a new European residence visa? Cease to have reciprocal health expenses? Pan-European mobile roaming no longer available? Longer queues at airports for non-EU visitors? Treated as third world citizens for tax and residence? Unfriendly reactions from local Europeans as they respond to our negative views of their European residence in the UK?

But according to Boris, we're building a new global empire of international treaties so none of this matters. Yet more totally unsubstantiated claims from Project Fantasy.

And, of course, if you're Nigel Farage, you've already registered your two children with German passports in order to overcome these issues. Total hypocrite!

I've said (and believed) all along that we'll end up remaining in the EU. Not saying it's right, just never believed that a deal that was acceptable to all parties could ever be concluded.

Referendum 2 in mid-March would be my guess.

Why a second (third) referendum, when this current one is being ignored, surely another one will get the same ? Ah, I get it , you mean the result will be fixed to suit what they require.

You will not have to worry anyway, with the UN migration act about to be signed 1 th Dec., you`ll be able to go anywhere.
As regards reciprocal health, that only applies for visitors, if you reside, you`ll have to fall under that countries rules, and thast means taxes. et all.

Good question, to which I'll add: How come not one of them has yet put forward a proposal for how leaving the EU might work to the advantage of the people of the United (huh!) Kingdom. They have only ever criticised others' proposals for not delivering their expectations without stating what those expectations are.

They are scheming! Steve Baker, the former Brexit minister, has suggested that Dominic Raab, Esther McVey, David Davis and Boris Johnson "should decide who will lead the party next". Heaven help us!

Well, that was unexpected??
So, Parliament has rejected the government's deal...never mind, we can always fall back on Labour's plan...Mr Corbyn, Mr Corbyn...oh, sorry I forgot. Despite totally dismissing the government's hard won plan the opposition are absolutely bereft of any ideas apart from 'General Election, General Election' which, by the way, I'm not so sure Labour would win. Corbyn and his cronies have at least now shown their true colours that they are only interested in self promotion and to hell with the country. Shameful...but then what else can we expect?

Bring it on...I hope there is an election, Corbyn wins..would LOVE to see the outcome of negotiations with the EU????
