Fleetwood.

Post by New Forester »

A team goes 1-0 up and then closes the game down in the second half by taking time out of the game as often as possible.
But from the first minute? Goalkeeper does a good imitation of a rugby penalty kicker using the maximum time allowed. A miserable first half quickly forgotten.
Much better second half. Ben Thompson well deserved his man of the match. If Pompey keep grinding out these results when below par, woe betide the opposition when we start playing well.
Let’s enjoy this while we can.

You can take the man out of Pompey
But you can`t take Pompey out of the man

Great result, who'd have even dreamed of being 6 points clear.
Funniest thing from today - according to the "All Goals" phone app, a certain Connor Chaplin was playing for Coventry (of course), at Centre Back!! Now that's I'd like to have seen

My first game since returning from Melbourne after a year away, great to be back in the Fratton end in my seat. I thought the noise level was good and fairly consistent throughout yet Joey Barton indicated we were quiet !! Maybe I’ve forgotten how loud it gets. :D

Not sure who is the more deluded, Joey Barton or Derek Adams.

Mind you, it must be soul-destroying for Barton - the majority of his career he has played at grounds with attendances of 30,000+. At home, they barely register 4 digits. And then they make the long trip south with just 76.

Did you see the lads waving the flags as the teams came out, wearing white and black kits? They were from the mighty, mighty Fleur de Lys YFC. There were more Fleur de Lys players in the crowd on Saturday than Fleetwood supporters.

When Barton gets the heave-ho, it'll be Fleetwood Sack.
