Bradford v Pompey

Post by Earl Grey »

I just wish that sometimes we could play on a paper pitch....
.....on paper this is a rout.
Hopefully that paper result will translate to an actual result.....Naylor back in to stiffen the midfield. Just need to stick the ball into the old onion bag at least a couple of times if we have a spell of dominance.

I think that this will be a tough match: Bradford have some good players; they're at home and they must be desperate for a win.

A reasonable game, and Bradford looked far better than a bottom-of-the-league team. Lowe was awesome, Clarke was very solid, Hawkins was OK first half and then faded, we needed Pitman on 2nd half. Lucky win, but still top

On another theme, Rumourmonger I like your signoff about Beckham and Hawking. Actually Hawking was also not a very good scientist either - many of his theories were proved to be wrong, and he wasn't rated very highly by other Particle Physicists (I know because I worked with many of them). Now there is talk of putting his face on the new £50 note. That's political correctness gone nuts. Someone like Alexander Fleming (discovery of penicillin) is FAR FAR more worthy.

By a very strange coincidence when it was announced on the radio that it would be a scientist on the £50 note and that the public were invited to suggest whom it should be , Alexander Fleming was my immediate thought.
